To succeed under these conditions, private companies need technical skills and top expertise, as well as talent in the areas of innovation, management and negotiation, and personnel who can apply a forward-looking approach. By offering this dual management/development skill set, the Advanced Master鈥檚 program prepares students to immediately take on operational responsibilities in major areas of urban planning:聽land use planning, property, financing, asset management, local development, environmental management, public services, studies and consulting. They can also join the property-management department of a major industrial or services firm or a team in charge of sustainability or corporate responsibility.
Career prospects
Graduates of this Advanced Master鈥檚 program find positions quickly. They work in urban planning, property, city services (transportation, water, telecommunications, etc.), consulting and auditing for communities and local development, as well as for international entities.
They take on management roles in joint public/private operations and partnerships (property promotion, land use planning). They may also become business managers (urban marketing, property prospecting, etc.), financial analysts (banking, property investment, etc.), managers of property assets (asset management), consultants (local development, community management, assistance for contractors, sustainability, public services management, etc.), project coordinators for communities or managers in urban planning or in architectural or law firms.
